Recovery Support
POSITIVE INPUT
Sharing your experience can be quite overwhelming so we know how important it is to listen to you and provide that personal connection. We offer one to one emotional recovery support, with no pressure or expectation being made to follow any advice that we give.
We offer various recovery programmes that give help and support to anyone who is experiencing abuse or has suffered abuse in the past. The Crossover Recovery Programme gives a greater understanding and recognition of the dynamics of abuse, aiding recovery from abusive experiences and equipping individuals for their future. Our group programmes aim to improve self esteem, relieve stress and worry and positively impact health and well being.
The Rockpool ACEs Recovery Toolkit is a very special programme for those who have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) that have resulted in emotional trauma. There are programmes for both adults and youngsters. The adult programme gives parents a greater understanding of the impact of ACEs on them and their children and provides practical methods to mitigate the impact of ACEs on themselves and their children. It helps develop the resilience they need, increasing self-esteem and implementing healthy lifestyle choices. The programme provides learning that enables children and young people help understand and therefore recognise that their emotions and behaviour have arisen because something has ‘happened to them’, and to be able to cope with the adversity they have experienced (and may do so in the future).
Having delivered programmes to various women’s groups we witness a constant stream of victims needing help. Feedback highlights the value of connection, a listening ear and input. The people we have worked with have seen a difference in themselves and been able to implement changes that have altered their future. They’ve shared with us how it’s opened their eyes to what they were going through, brought an awareness of issues of abuse in which they’ve lived, made them stronger and that they wished they’d known about our services sooner. It really matters that these programmes can be delivered and accessed by anyone who is experiencing or has suffered abuse and that is why we offer them as a free service.
Due to COVID-19 it has not been possible to meet in person, to run group programmes, deliver training and give talks in the normal way that we would like. However, we are able to offer certain services through zoom meetings, until safety measures are lifted. Please contact us for more information.
