Getting to grips with the reality of domestic abuse and equipping The Church to take spiritual and practical measures in response.
How does your church view domestic abuse? What is your church’s level of awareness of it? Is it ever talked about? Domestic abuse is often seen as a taboo subject within church but one in four churchgoers have experienced abuse! Domestic abuse is a spiritual evil and as such, we believe The Church has the spiritual tools to address it and a vital role to play in response to it.
This training day will help you ‘unpack’ domestic abuse, looking at types of abuse, including spiritual abuse, the effects, the root of abuse and the misunderstandings that surround it. It will encourage you to face the challenges it brings, both inside and outside your church. Throughout the sessions we will look at what the Bible has to say and what God’s heart is for relationships.
As well as teaching and training there will be personal testimonies and interviews that will move and inspire you to respond. There will also be a time of reflective prayer.
The training day is free to attend but places must be booked in advance.
