TCP Events

Our charity is all about helping those who’ve experienced abuse and also raising awareness. We spend our time going into schools to talk about healthy relationships and the signs and effects of domestic abuse, how to get help and support. In our local community we run courses on understanding domestic abuse and run recovery programmes for those wanting to heal from the effects of their experiences as well as providing emotional support for individuals. We offer training to churches as to how they can be a support to those affected by abuse. All our services are free so that no one is limited by the constraints of finance.

On 16th June one of our lovely volunteers, Teresa along with myself will be taking up the challenge of the 20km Wirral Coastal Walk to raise funds for The Crossing Point.   We’d love for you to support us in this and sponsor us. We are holding a fundraising event on Friday 27th October at Hope Church, Hoylake, Wirral. All proceeds will help us continue to tackle domestic abuse and offer support to those affected by it. This is a great opportunity to find out more about The Crossing Point and hear from the people who we’ve had the privilege of working with over the past 12 months. The evening means you get to find out the kinds of things we do and of the lives that have been impacted and changed as a result. It may well be that you know of someone who needs to hear the encouraging stories that will be shared. It may be that you yourself will be challenged to make a difference in your community, in your church, in your school or place of work.

We also have some live music from the St James Community Centre Choir and Diane Jones. There will be a book stall with relevant material that you can purchase or alternatively make a donation. Refreshments will be served to make the evening complete. We warmly invite you to come and celebrate with us how life can change for the better!

Domestic abuse can impact us for a very long time, leaving our emotions, our thinking and our health all affected in some way. We may be living our lives through the lens of abuse without even realising it. The Crossover Recovery Programme for women is run over eight weeks, helping us to understand the dynamics of abuse and taking us on a journey of recovery and healing and restoration. Domestic abuse is wrong yet it is often seen as a taboo subject and seldom talked about in church. This training is about equipping you to stand up to abuse and see it lose its grip on relationships, families and society as a whole. The session starts at 10am and will finish at 2pm so please bring a packed lunch with you. Tea and coffee will be provided.

Who can resist home baked cakes …. mmmm … so why not come along to our cake sale and see what takes your fancy. All the proceeds from this event will help The Crossing Point to continue their fight against domestic abuse. We would love to see you, get to know you and share a slice or two of something scrumptious over a nice cuppa.

Domestic abuse is something we need to understand as it can happen to anyone at any time. We are offering free training to help you learn to identify it, appreciate the impact it has and know how to help and support those affected by it. The course consists of three sessions and is being run from St James Community Centre in North Birkenhead with Session 1 starting on Tuesday 27th June at 9.45am. We are working to see the generational cycle of abuse broken and the training is available to anyone who wants to join with us in the fight against abuse.
