16 Days of Activism

The United Nation’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence stared on 25th November. We took part in The Red Chair Project, part of A place for Her: a project that aims to speak out for women and girls who have lost their lives to violence.

You could get involved too.  Why not designate a chair in your church, at a local café, or even a public space like a park bench (get permission first if you need to).  Cover the chair with red fabric and place the sign on it to make the necessary impact. The empty chair acts as a powerful symbol of those who’ve been killed through gender-based violence.  Globally, every 11 minutes a woman or girl dies at the hand of their abuser.
